Wood, Metal, Printer Cartridges and Batteries
Printer cartridges - Printer cartridges may be recycled through a system that supports charities and the boxes for the disposal of these are kept in your caretaker's / cleaning supervisor's office.
- Return them to the manufacturer where possible.
- You can recycle them through charities.
- Failing that they can be disposed of with WEEE collections.
Batteries - There are now facilities to dispose of batteries through your building caretaker by simply passing them your batteries or using the bins provided.
- Container 1 - Lithium batteries only
- Container 2 - Household, lead acid, nickle cadmium, nickel metal hydride
- All 9v batteries are to be wrapped with cling film
Wood & Metal - There are now facilities to dispose of small volumes of wood & metal in the Facilities Management yard. Items can be brought to the yard by prior arrangement with the helpdesk by emailing waste@lboro.ac.uk, for large one off items a pick up can be arranged through FM or for larger volumes we can arrange one off skips on a day to suit the department, please email waste@lboro.ac.uk for further details.
The wood skip can take all types of wood including Softwood, MDF,plywood,chipboard and wood chip. We cannot however accept treated timbers (e.g. creosoted timber).
