Quality Enhancement
Loughborough University defines quality enhancement (QE) as “the process of taking deliberate steps at different levels to improve the quality of learning opportunities, with a focus on the desired capabilities of our students and the needs of our staff”.
Our enhancement activities are underpinned by six underlying principles: strategic purpose; school/departmental focus; student involvement; partnership approach; enquiry-based culture; and continuing professional development.
Our Quality Enhancement Officers undertake a range of activities including work with school/departmental colleagues on issues linked to teaching, learning and assessment practice; institutional QE Projects; promoting, identifying and disseminating examples of effective practice; advice to colleagues preparing bids for the University Teaching Awards Scheme; gathering, analysing and evaluating data related to quality enhancement; fostering engagement with Networks and Communities of Interest.
