You may consult any of the doctors, but as it is important for doctor and patient to get to know each other well, you should try to keep to the same doctor whenever possible.

If you consider your condition is urgent and no doctor's appointment are available on the day, you will be able to see the nurse via our nurse walk in service.  If the nurse is unable to deal with your problem, she will refer you to the duty doctor  if clinically appropriate.

It is important to inform us as soon as possible if you cannot keep your appointment, so that we can offer it to another patient.

Please note that we are now providing a free appointment reminder text messaging service

If you are more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, you will only be seen at the discretion of the doctor or nurse.

Booking GP Appointments online

In order to improve access, the Medical centre now offers the facility to book GP appointments on-line.  Please go to 'EMIS Access' on this website for further details.

Did you know You don’t need a sick note if you are off work for less than seven days? You can self-certify – contact your personnel office at work for details.

Did you know Students do not always need a doctors’ certificate to accompany their Impairment Form. Please read information on Impairment Form.

Did you know you don’t always need an appointment with your GP for advice on coughs, colds and other minor health problems – you can see the practice nurse or local pharmacy instead.

Home Visits

If you're unable to get to your doctor's surgery because you're suffering with a serious illness, you can call to arrange a home visit. But remember, such visits are for medical, not social or personal reasons.  In the time it takes to see one person at home, your GP could see between two and four patients at the surgery. Wasting time on unnecessary home visits can delay someone else getting the (sometimes life-saving) treatment they need.

If you feel a home visit is necessary, please contact reception on  (0845) 045 0557.  The duty nurse will then assess your request and act accordingly.
