Make Me an Administrator
Make Me An Administrator. A utility which allows users easily to elevate their standard active directory accounts into the local Administrators group on their computer as required, and then remove it again. This allows hardware and software to be installed while logged in under the user's normal account. This is often preferable to logging in with a local administrative account so that shortcuts appear as expected and can in some cases cases be necessary for successful installation. This facility is provided by IT Services for use where it is necessary to aid productivity. Responsibility for deciding who should have access to the utility lies with individual departments and only IT staff can install it.
