Research interests

Strongly Correlated Electronic Systems. In particular,

  1. Modelling of correlated materials using combination of Local Density Approximation (LDA) and Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT). Mott transitions in Vanadates, Titanates, etc. Half-Metallic behaviour in CMR, chromium dioxide, dilute magnetic semiconductors.
  2. Mott-Anderson localization and the Insulator-Metal transition in correlated systems with Cluster-DMFT. Disorder in variety of correlated Systems. Phase Separation, stripe/cluster formation.
  3. Charge/Orbital and AF/F order in correlated systems: Manganites, Vanadates, etc.
  4. Toy models for geometrically frustrated spin/fermion systems. Order by disorder mechanisms. Static/dynamical responses.
  5. Non-Fermi liquid metallic states in high spatial dimensions, or Local Non-Fermi Liquid metals, e.g., QCP in rare-earth systems. Quantum Impurity Models and Mesoscopic Circuits. Beginning to study Quantum Computation.
  6. Low-dimensional electronic/spin systems. Bosonization, DMRG, Strong-coupling expansions.
  7. Exact Results. Use of rigorous inequalities. Establishing conditions for existence or otherwise of electronic phase separation.
