Career

2005–present: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography, Department of Geography, University of Loughborough.
1998–2003: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography, Department of Geography, Royal Holloway, University of London.
1995–1997: Postdoctoral research work at Universities of Bristol, Wales (Aberystwyth) and Cambridge.
1994: PhD, 'The Seasonal Evolution of Meltwater Discharge, Quality and Routing at a High-Arctic Glacier', Downing College/Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge.

Research Interests

I am interested in monitoring and modelling the hydrology of glaciers and glacierised catchments. In particular, I am interested in the the hydrological response of high-latitude catchments and ice masses to meteorological forcing, at melt season to multi-decadal time scales, and at point to synoptic spatial scales. I am further interested in fluvial sediment transfer and the physical denudation of glacierised catchments, in water and sediment budgeting and in the statistical modelling of hydrometeorological and water quality time series.
