Simply the NSS best!

We are delighted - and very proud - to announce that the School has been voted by its students as the best!
We came equal top in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS) based on average score for overall satisfaction and we couldn’t be more pleased. A big thank you to all our 2011 finalists who provided the information which is used to assess the universities taking part.
The NSS has been conducted annually since 2005 and runs across all publicly funded Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and participating HEIs in Scotland.
It is an opportunity for all students in their final year of study to reflect and give their opinions on what they thought about their time as an undergraduate, as well as point out anything they would like to have been different.
The questionnaire covers the following headings:
- Teaching on the Course
- Assessment and Feedback
- Academic Support
- Organisation and Management
- Learning Resources
- Personal Development
- Overall Satisfaction
Students can also make general comments, positive or negative, on their student learning experience as a whole.
The information is not collected simply to make another league table though. It is intended to be used year on year to embed best practices and make improvements. We do this - we really do listen to what our undergraduates say!
Add this accolade to the fact that Loughborough University has been voted the Best Student Experience in the Times Higher Education Awards every year since that award was inaugurated five years ago and it confirms what we here already knew – that Loughborough is GREAT!
