The University and facilities
Loughborough University was granted university status in 1966, but its history dates back to 1909 when Loughborough College was founded. The extensive campus brings together students from many different backgrounds with various subject interest, and provides the perfect environment for both academic and social pursuits.

Accommodation
If you accept and meet our entry offer, you will be guaranteed a place in a hall of residence on campus for your first year. A high proportion of students in other years take advantage of campus accommodation, with priority given to those in their final year. Sports for all
Loughborough University sports facilities The University is renowned for its international sporting successes, and there are fine sports facilities available for all students. These include swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, many sports pitches, all-weather play areas, four indoor sports halls and an athletics stadium. Sports clubs and the coaching available caters for all levels, from beginners to Olympic standard. The University offers a number of sports scholarships each year. The University offers over 100 recreational clubs and societies to enable you to pursue existing interests or take up new ones.

Arts and entertainments
The University's Students' Union is the largest music and dance venue in Leicestershire. The Arts Centre is our forum for concerts, from opera to rock, as well as theatre and drama productions.

Support facilities
