MSc Construction Business Management

Programme Description
This programme aims to:
- Broaden the skills of construction professionals to include more business management skills; and
- Introduce students to a range of techniques and strategies to manage successful construction business.
The first semester provides students with the principles of managing construction projects. The second semester addresses key issues that are fundament to construction organisations operating within a commercial context. These include techniques for developing and realising the organisation's strategic intentions, encouraging teamwork and leadership within organisations, identifying contractual obligations, economic influences and project finance. The programme is ideally suited for those with previous work experience in the construction sector who would like to target more senior managerial positions.
This degree is accredited as meeting the requirements for further Learning for a Chartered Engineer (CEng) for candidates who have already acquired an Accredited CEng (Partial) BEng (Hons) undergraduate first degree. See http://www.jbm.org.uk for further information.
